Supplementation and Biohacking for ADHD – let’s give it a go!(or not)

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. THIS IS JUST FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES.

So, I’ve been deep-diving into myself for the past couple of years, like, properly observing my own patterns, thoughts, behaviours… all that jazz. And yeah, in a very cliché way, I kept finding myself in this loop: hyped up, motivated, thinking “this is it, I’m turning it all around!” , then boom, back to being miserable and doing absolutely nothing. Classic. Long story short, I noticed some stuff in me that weirdly lines up with this whole adult ADHD wave that’s being talked about lately , or maybe I’m just another victim of modern-day mind control, who knows? Either way, I’m not fully sold on the label, but I figured… screw it, I’ll run another experiment , on myself, obviously.

Last week I listened to Joe Rogan Experience #2060 with Gary Brecka. In the last bit of the episode, he kind of goes off on how simple vitamin and mineral supplements could massively help with stuff like anxiety, ADHD, and similar things. Naturally, that caught my attention , partly because I’ve worked in sales and partly because, well, I’m trying to fix my own stuff here. And honestly, even if there’s just a speck of truth in it, I’m in , but doing it my way… budget style, of course.

I know, Brecka isn’t a doctor. He doesn’t hold a medical degree as far as I could find. But that’s not even the biggest red flag , I’ll get into the more questionable stuff later on. For now, let’s focus on the bits that actually made me go, “huh… interesting.” What he does have is a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Frostburg State University and another one in Human Biology from the National University of Health Sciences.

In a nutshell, what Brecka said:

His whole pitch is that a lot of common issues , sleep struggles, mood swings, anxiety, even chronic stuff , might be rooted in basic nutrient deficiencies and messed-up methylation in the body. He pushes for targeted supplements like methylated B vitamins, magnesium, vitamin D3 with K2, essential amino acids, and good salts to sort out mineral balance. According to him, neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine , the feel-good chemicals , are heavily influenced by what we put into our bodies. And sometimes what looks like a mental health issue could actually be a nutrition problem. His approach is all about fixing the root cause, not just slapping on pharmaceuticals.

❌ Left Behind – And Why:

SupplementWhy It Didn’t Make the Cut
Hydrogen TabletsBrecka loves them, but too experimental and costly at this stage.
SAM-eSensitive to dose, not essential unless mood instability is front and center.

More about Mr Brecka.

Over the years, Brecka has made some pretty wild health claims, including predicting death based on bloodwork — talk about bold! And if you didn’t already know, he’s been arrested too — back in 2017, he faced charges related to a fraudulent scheme. Oh, and it gets even more questionable. He’s been accused of peddling pseudoscience around his health advice, with critics labeling him a “snake oil salesman” and saying his teachings lack proper scientific backing. Articles from Daily Mail call out the risks of promoting such unproven methods, especially when they target people seeking real solutions for their health. So yeah, there’s definitely some baggage there. If you want more details, check out these articles:
